2019 Trip to the UK
In January 2019 we decided we wanted to spend Christmas 2019 with family and friends in Stafford, England. We booked our flight and our countdown of over 300 more sleeps started.
Early July my cousin's wife Sue (friend of over 30 years) was very ill. We needed to see her and a few days later flew over. It was going to be 9 full days with family. Sadly two days after arriving Sue passed away. One of the last things Sue said to us was we couldn't come all that way and not go to Manchester. 'I give you my permission', she told Al. It was Sue and my cousin Andrew who took us to Manchester and the studio gates the first time in 2003. (They dropped us off and went shopping.) We met 9 cast members that day and were hooked.
On Monday July 15th we took the train to Manchester. We headed to the Metrolink and I spotted Karen Henthorn (Teresa Bryant). I think she was surprised I'd recognized her. We had met her in 2008 and she made me a video congratulating me on winning the CBC contest. (Thanks to friend Michael for video) Karen was lovely and chatty. A good start to the day. I would have loved a new photo, but didn't feel comfortable asking there.

The sun was shining and we had a fabulous day. We saw 15 actors, had photos with 14. Ben Price (Nick) was on the phone as he walked by. Seven of the cast were new ones for us
I can't thank the cast enough for their time. They were all wonderful, chatty and happy to pose for a photo. They put smiles on our faces.
Chris Gascoyne was the last cast member we met. We had a good chat with him - he is amazing! 💕💕 As we were getting ready to go, he passed us and was heading back into the studios as he'd forgot his phone. At that minute I wondered if he'd do a quick video message with me when he came out. He had no problem and I was lucky enough to get another kiss! What a way to end the day. I know Sue was watching over us. ❤❤❤

I'm hoping to go to the studios once more in December. I also plan to see a few exCorrie cast members in panto. Check back early in 2020 to see how I get on.
I'd love to hear from you. Please leave a comment on my guestbook. Thank you.
