On May 2nd, 2013 we headed to England. We had a few Corrie related things planned and hoped to meet a few of the cast. We planned a day at the gates, afternoon tea at Annie's (Jennie McAlpine's - Fiz ) restaurant, plus we had tickets to see The Full Monty which had a few ex-Corrie cast members in it.
I had also applied to get tickets to the red carpet of the British Soap Awards. They then announced this would be the first year they would allow fans to attend the actual award show. A few days before the event I found out I had been lucky to get tickets to the red carpet and to be in the audience for the British Soap Awards.
Over our 3 weeks we met 49 Coronation Street cast members, 20 were new ones I hadn't met before. Before leaving Canada I made a list of 6 actors I really wanted to meet. I thought if I met one of them, I'd be very happy. My list was: Sally, Gail, Dennis, my friend Hayley, Peter and the hunky Doctor Matt. I met 5 on my list!!!
Believe it or not, but Coronation Street was only a small part of our holiday. We visited family, friends and went to places such as Whitby, Goathland, Liverpool, Leeds, Stratford, Derby, Stafford and of course Manchester.

In case you were wondering what I was getting signed by the actors, it was a photo of Al and I in the Rovers pulling a pint. It was taken on our last trip to England. Click here to read about that visit. I put a border around the photo and had the actors sign it. I didn't realize I would meet so many actors and ran out of space.
The other photo was of Al and I behind the counter of Roy's Rolls with the Croppers. Julie Hesmondhalgh, David Neilson and Stephanie Cole signed that.

We went to see two shows while in England. The first was Birds of a Feather which we saw in Liverpool. It was FABULOUS!!! We laughed from beginning to the end. Great show and the ladies were lovely with us. Linda Robson tweeted us before, during and after the show!
The second show was The Full Monty at the Grand Theatre in Leeds. It starred a few ex-Corrie stars. Another show we really enjoyed.

Besides actors, this trip I also met two of Coronation Street's producers. The first was Phil Collinson. I didn't get a photo with him, but I did get him to sign the tram crash dvd I'd got at Poundland the day before.
I then met the newest producer Stuart Blackburn. I had a nice chat with him.

I met a few other Corrie related ladies this trip. These ladies are extra's on the show. First was my friend Christine, a regular extra in Underworld. We met for lunch and had a wonderful time. Christine also makes the most delicious cupcakes!!! If you are in the Preston area you should definitely visit her facebook page and order some today at Cupcakes by Christine
In the second photo you can see one of the new extras in Underworld, Azmeena.

This trip I met another lovely extra. Her name is Toni. I've seen Toni on Coronation Street for many years. Then I saw an interview she did for Christine's
Coronation Street Fun Pages
When I saw Toni leaving the studios, I had to say hello. Very happy I did.
One thing I have to say about all the extra's I have met is they are all extra nice people!!!
