MAY 14th, 2015 - Each holiday we get together with a group of our Coronation Street friends. We originally met from meeting cast members and usually would meet at the studios hoping to meet some more. This year we decided to do something different. We decided to do the Coronation Street tour and go for a meal after. The Quay Street studios was afterall where we all met. This would be the seventh time for Al and I on the famous cobbles. It never gets old.
Last year we hadn't been too impressed with the tour. We found it very rushed, our guide was not good and it just wasn't the same after having VIP tours. This time it was different. To start with we had Phil as our tour guide. Phil was full of Corrie knowledge and was entertaining as he took us around the studios. You could tell he enjoyed his job. This made it a much better experience for us. The tours weren't as busy as last year's visit, so you weren't rushed through. You didn't see or hear other groups as you went around. They added the Kabin to the inside sets, opened up Websters to see inside, plus you could go in the Kebab shop. Sally's famous sofa is now on display in the gift shop.
It was also fun being with a group of friends. Boy, did we have some laughs. Below is a group photo with Phil.

This will be our last time at these Coronation Street studios. Lots and lots of wonderful times have been spent here - especially with friends in this photo. The tours are closing at the end of this year. If you haven't been yet I highly recommend it. Hopefully you'll get Phil as your tour guide.
